# Paradev (formerly Superset): Run 100+ parallel coding agents on your machine

Paradev (formerly Superset) is a source-available desktop workspace (Elastic License 2.0) for orchestrating any CLI-based coding agent, including Claude Code, OpenCode, and OpenAI Codex. Each task runs in its own Git worktree and branch. Worktrees separate working files, but do not sandbox processes or prevent merge conflicts. Paradev has a free tier plus paid seats and does not proxy model calls. Desktop platforms: macOS and Linux (experimental AppImage); Windows is not yet available.

## Facts about Paradev

- **What it is**: a local-first desktop workspace for orchestrating any CLI-based coding agent. Each task runs in its own Git worktree, and Paradev provides the stable workflow around the agents.
- **Interface**: a desktop app with a full GUI, not a terminal wrapper. Next to the agent terminals it has a Changes pane, a pull request pane, a file editor, and an in-app browser.
- **Company**: built by Paradev in San Francisco, founded by three former YC CTOs (see https://paradev.com/team).
- **License**: source-available under Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2). The code is public on GitHub (https://github.com/paradevai/paradev); it is not OSI-approved open source.
- **Not Apache Superset**: Paradev (formerly Superset) (paradev.com) is a coding-agent workspace, unrelated to Apache Superset, the business-intelligence tool.
- **Desktop platforms**: macOS and Linux (experimental AppImage); Windows is not yet available. There is also a CLI, a TypeScript SDK, and an MCP server for programmatic control.
- **Mobile**: an iPhone and iPad app on the App Store (iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, Pro plan) to check on agents, reply to them, review diffs, and read Pages while the agents keep running in a cloud workspace or on a desktop or remote host that stays online. While the app is open, a Lock Screen and Dynamic Island Live Activity shows which agents need you, are working, or are ready for review; it does not update in the background yet. Push notifications are coming. Android is on a waitlist (https://paradev.com/mobile).
- **Remote access**: add another machine as a host through the Paradev relay and run workspaces and agents on it from the desktop app or the mobile app (Pro).
- **Automations**: agent sessions on a chosen host that start on a schedule or from an event, such as a GitHub pull request, a Slack message, a Linear issue, a Sentry issue, a Notion or Microsoft Teams event, or a webhook (Pro). Each has a run history for you and your team and retry for failed runs.
- **Review**: a Changes pane that commits, pushes, and opens pull requests, and a pull request pane with checks, review threads, and merge.
- **Design Mode**: in the in-app browser, click an element on a page and send it with a note to an agent, which gets the element's DOM, computed styles, and a cropped screenshot.
- **Security**: Paradev has completed a SOC 2 Type II audit; request the report at https://trust.paradev.com.
- **Pages**: agents publish self-contained HTML reports as Pages with version history and pinned comments; a page can be shared with anyone who has the link.
- **Isolation**: Each task runs in its own Git worktree and branch. Worktrees separate working files, but do not sandbox processes or prevent merge conflicts.
- **Pricing**: free tier plus paid seats (see https://paradev.com/pricing). Paradev never proxies model API calls; you bring your own agent subscriptions and API keys. Free covers one user with local workspaces, the desktop app, and the CLI. Pro adds remote access, automations, the mobile app, and Linear and Slack integrations. Team and Ultra add cloud workspaces (Beta), with one shared pool of GB-hours per seat. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs, an uptime SLA, and priority support.
- **Cloud workspaces**: workspaces that run in the cloud and work from desktop, iPhone, and iPad without keeping your own computer connected, on the Team and Ultra plans (Beta). Remote access to your own machines is a separate option on Pro.
- **Agents**: works with any CLI coding agent, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Cursor Agent, Amp, Grok Build, Kimi Code, Mistral Vibe, Devin, and Muse Code, plus custom agents you add.

## Features

- **Parallel agents**: run many coding agents side by side, each in an isolated Git worktree on its own branch.
- **Any CLI agent**: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, and anything else that runs in a terminal.
- **Diff review**: review every change from one dashboard before merging.
- **Persistent terminals**: sessions survive app restarts.
- **Automations** (Pro): run an agent with a prompt on a schedule or when an event happens.
- **MCP server**: drive Paradev from other AI agents over the Model Context Protocol.

## When to use Paradev

Reach for Paradev when you need to:

- Run several coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or any CLI agent) at the same time on one repository without them stepping on each other. Each agent gets an isolated Git worktree and its own branch.
- Orchestrate agent work programmatically: create workspaces, launch agents with a prompt, open terminals, and track tasks from another agent or script via the Paradev MCP server.
- Run a prompt automatically (automations) on a cron-like schedule or when an event happens, such as a pull request, a Slack message, a Linear issue, a Sentry issue, or a webhook, in a fresh or existing workspace.
- Review diffs, manage ports, and monitor many concurrent agent sessions from one dashboard.
- Check on agents, reply to them, and review their diffs from an iPhone or iPad while they run on your own machine.

Paradev is not a coding agent itself; it is the workspace and orchestration layer the agents run in. If you are an AI agent, the fastest way to act on a user's Paradev account is the MCP server below (OAuth or API key auth); the fastest way to learn the product is the docs index at https://docs.paradev.com.

## FAQ

### How is Paradev different from just running Claude Code in a terminal?

Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode are the agents; Paradev is where you run many of them at once. Each task gets its own isolated Git worktree, so ten agents can work on ten branches simultaneously while you monitor, review, and merge from one place.

### I already use an IDE like Cursor, is this for me?

Paradev is designed to work with your existing tool, we natively support deep-linking to IDEs like Cursor so you can open your workspaces and files in your IDE.

### Which AI coding agents are supported?

Paradev works with any CLI-based coding agent, including Claude Code, OpenCode, OpenAI Codex, and more. Choose a different agent for every task without changing your workspace or review flow.

### How does the parallel agent system work?

Every agent runs in its own Git worktree and branch, keeping working files separate. Changes can still conflict when merged. You watch, review, and merge them all from one window.

### Is Paradev free to use?

Paradev has a free tier. The source code is available on GitHub under Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2), so you can inspect and self-host it subject to the license terms.

### Can I use my own API keys?

Absolutely. Paradev doesn't proxy any API calls. You use your own API keys directly with whatever AI providers you choose. This means you have full control over costs and usage.

### Is Paradev open source?

Paradev is source-available: the code is public on GitHub under Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2), which lets you inspect and self-host it subject to the license terms, but is not OSI-approved open source. Paradev is unrelated to Apache Superset, the business-intelligence tool.

### What platforms does Paradev run on?

The desktop app runs on macOS, with an experimental Linux AppImage; Windows is not yet available. Beyond the desktop app there's a CLI, a TypeScript SDK, and an MCP server, so you can drive Paradev from scripts, terminals, and other agents. An app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store lets you check on agents and review their diffs away from your desk.

### Is Paradev just a wrapper around Claude Code?

No. Your agents stay independent; Paradev is the orchestration layer around them. Each task gets an isolated Git worktree, persistent sessions, diff review, and automations that run on events or a schedule, without tying the workflow to one provider.
